Furniture & Decor

The best spaces are created with layers of color, texture and pattern and we can make a big impact with those final layers that include - rugs, furniture, wallpaper, window treatments, lighting, accessories and wall decor. We have many years experience procuring furniture and decor and will make suggestions for quality, heirloom and customizable pieces.

Consultation Services

Many clients are excited to drive their home renovation or interior updates but would still benefit from a designer to review plans, ask questions and even provide the ever valuable β€˜tie-breaker’ opinion. We provide design consultation services by the hour to offer support where it’s needed.

FAQs

  • An interior designer is responsible for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces. Collaborating with the client, as well as with architects and contractors, they are charged with thoughtfully designing, documenting, and managing projects from concept to completion.

  • The relationship with your interior designer should be a comfortable one, with clear, consistent communication throughout. Their job is to make the decision-making process easier by presenting quality options that guide you to a cohesive result. Further, it’s important that they help you to visualize those options. Many clients benefit from digital drawings or interior renderings of their space. If this is important to you, ask your interior designer what tools they use to help their clients visualize their design. We utilize a combination of design boards, CAD, Revit, and Enscape to support our clients in their decision-making.

Another important thing to look for is the professional certification and experience of the team. The NCIDQ, which Kate Swayze holds, is globally recognized and the highest certification an interior designer can earn.

  • Many design firms have a minimum project size/ budget. As a full-service interior design firm we prefer to work on projects where we can be involved from concept to completion. From interior space planning through to furnishing and accessorizing the finished space. We don’t limit ourselves to just these larger projects and love to make an impact on existing spaces through improved furniture layouts, color consultations, lighting updates, etc.

  • Each project is unique but in general we follow 5 phases of design. We begin by gathering information and developing a project scope of work. From this we create a proposal where we present budget estimates and a timeline for the phases of design.

  • Design time is charged on an hourly basis and billed monthly. There is a mark-up on subcontractor work and materials - all of these details are defined in our design services agreement.

  • Depending on the project we can present designs in person or virtually via design boards or virtual meetings. We can also support our design suggestions with 3D renderings to help with visualization.

We welcome client input and expect to make adjustments during the early design for client preferences. Your feedback is SO important as it helps us tailor the design to you.

  • Yes, we do offer interior design services outside of Maine! Many services are able to be provided virtually and if you are unsure if it’s possible, please inquire with us directly. Site visits are a normal part of our process during the construction phase, so advance planning is necessary for distance projects.

  • As a new business, we’re working on completing some of our first independent projects and in turn photographing those projects. However, we do have a professional portfolio available upon request with past work. Please keep an eye on our social media pages and website or sign up for our newsletter here to be notified of updates.
